Katrina and Franklin’s Top Five Podcasts

It appears that podcasts are here to stay and continue to grow in popularity. Wikipedia states that over 50 million people listen to podcasts each month. A large percentage of listeners are downloading the podcasts to their mobile devices. That factor is surely a key element to why this digital format remains in such high favor.

I am quite blessed to have the honor of working with highly creative individuals at the Loveland Business Development Center (LBDC). Two of those people are Katrina Pfannkuch and Franklin Taggart. Both these folks have their own podcasts. Katrina has Flirting with Enlightenment and Franklin has The Reset Podcast. I would encourage you to read about Katrina and Franklin on their websites.

I must admit, I have not found the time to listen to podcasts but that is on my bucket list. I do hear Katrina and Franklin talk about some of their favorite podcasts and invited them to give the LBDC followers their top five podcasts.

Franklin’s Top Five Podcasts:

Building a StoryBrand with Donald Miller
Why I listen: A big part of any business’ marketing is the message. Author Donald Miller discovered an ageless story framework that humans immediately recognize. When he applied that framework to his marketing, everything changed. I especially recommend the first season of this podcast which outlines the StoryBrand Framework. In the seasons since, the podcast has featured top notch guests from every area of business. https://buildingastorybrand.com/

Side Hustle School with Chris Guillebeau
Why I listen: This is a daily podcast that features stories of people who have started businesses on the side that have become viable sources of steady income. I most often recommend that people start businesses as side projects first, to see first if they will enjoy the activities enough to make it a full-time pursuit, and to see if they can make enough money for the business to sustain itself. Within each story there are important lessons for other business owners to learn from. https://sidehustleschool.com/podcasts/

Social Media Marketing Podcast with Michael Stelzner
Why I listen: This show, and its companion show The Social Media Talk Show are the best, most up-to-date resources for people who use social media for marketing. The social media landscape changes daily, and the SME team stays on top of the game better than anyone else. I also like the weekly discovery segment on the Social Media Marketing Podcast in which they share a new tool every week that will help your social media posts be more visible and useful. https://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/shows/

LibSyn’s The Feed: A podcast about podcasting
Why I listen: LibSyn is the top hosting platform for podcasts, and in this role they provide this excellent resource for podcasters. They feature up-to-date news about the world of podcasting, and they share practices and processes to help podcast producers create better shows and reach more people. https://thefeed.libsyn.com/

Smart Passive Income with Pat Flynn
Why I listen: 10 years ago, Pat Flynn went from being an out-of-work architect to becoming an online business sensation when he wrote a study guide for an exam that other architects needed to take for a special certification. From that point on, he became a successful student and then a teacher on the rapidly changing world of online commerce, helping people to build successful sources of residual income online. I like this show for many reasons, but first among them is that I appreciate Pat’s caring motivation at the foundation of his business. His desire to help others succeed is inspiring. He’s also been podcasting long enough to have produced over 1000 episodes, and all of them feature high quality topics and guests. He also hosts another daily podcast called Ask Pat in which he takes one listener question at a time and answers it thoroughly. https://www.smartpassiveincome.com/podcasts/
