LDP/DDA partners with Downtown businesses to bring a month of holiday events to Loveland

The Downtown Development Authority and local businesses want to bring shoppers to Downtown Loveland during the holidays by appealing to kids—and adults.

Yes, that means Santa Claus, and this year, the jolly fellow will be stopping at local businesses for festivities, photos, fun and even a happy hour. He and local businesses invite the community to make the downtown their destination for holiday shopping, dining and entertainment in a festive, lively atmosphere.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be joining us at various stops throughout the holiday season because they Love Loveland! Their first appearance will be at the Festival of Lights on Wednesday, Nov. 29. You will not want to miss the lighting of the Downtown Loveland Christmas Tree at 6 p.m.   Come join the LDP and DDA, along with your friends and family, in this festive event at Rialto Square! Visit our website for a full line-up of all the goodies and entertainment that await you (www.lovelandpartnership.org).

You also have the opportunity to meet Santa during one of the Santa Saturdays in Downtown Loveland!

His first stop will be on Saturday, Dec. 2, at Studio Vino, 426 N. Lincoln Ave., for Breakfast with Santa from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (Reservations/more info at www.studiovino.com | 970.622.9632.)

On Saturday, Dec. 9, come back to downtown for the Santa & Me Handprints at Artisan You! at 405 E. Seventh Street. Children can get their handprint on a keepsake plate next to Santa’s and get a special photo with him and Mrs. Claus from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The ceramic plates, which the children can paint on the back, will be fired in a kiln and glazed for parents to pick up a week later. “It will be fun to have Santa come in and visit with the kids,” said Janna Flores, owner of Artisan You! and a member of the LDP Business Alliance. “It’s a relaxing, memorable visit with Santa with a fun activity.”

That same day, head to The Flipside, 140 E. Fourth St., for a Happy Hour with Santa from 3:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m. The visit will include photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, as you challenge your friends to pinball or Pokeman.

Santa will make his last stop on Saturday, Dec. 16, at The Cosmic Dog, 116 W. Fourth St. from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Get your Paws-Pup Pics with Santa as your furry friends whisper in Santa’s ear what they really want for Christmas. All donations go to Animal Rescue Harley’s Dreams.

The Downtown District will also be celebrating the holiday season with Elfie Selfie on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. This lively scavenger hunt, hosted by Studio Vino, in Downtown Loveland will engage visitors with finding Elfie and taking a selfie with him—hint: he’s wearing a red hat and a red-and-white striped shirt and stockings. Those who find and post their Elfie Selfie to social media will be entered in a drawing and a lucky winner will receive a hometown gift basket full of goodies—gift cards from Downtown Loveland businesses.

And don’t forget, Friday Night on the Town will be on Friday, Dec. 8th. Businesses will stay open late and offer appetizers and drinks to shoppers as they stop in their stores and browse for those special gifts.

Remember, by shopping and visiting Downtown Loveland, you can avoid the crowds, find something special and unique, enjoy some of the best dining and entertainment in Northern Colorado and see Santa this holiday season!  Because who doesn’t love Santa? Especially knowing he supports the Downtown!
