Larimer County’s “5 star” certified business variance program, locally known as the Level Up Program was approved by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) Office at 12:47 p.m. on December 23, 2020. Businesses in Larimer County can now apply for and upon approval, inspection and certification, operate at the capacities one level above the overall county position on the statewide COVID-19 Dial.
Last week Larimer County submitted for the “5 Star” certified business variance program, locally known as the Level Up Program. The 5 Star State Certification Program enables businesses that meet enhanced safety guidelines in qualifying counties to open at greater capacity. For this program to start in Larimer County, our application needs to be approved by the state and our regional COVID-19 case numbers need to continue to decline. The good news is that we expect to meet both of these conditions in the very near future, so we are asking interested local businesses to complete the Level Up pre-application process.
Due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in Larimer County, the state has imposed mandatory level red restrictions on our businesses and citizens. In order to help support City of Loveland small businesses that are currently enduring the effects of these restrictions, the City of Loveland has created a $750,000 fund to provide much needed relief to our hardest hit small businesses that operate within the city limits.
